A Very Special Visit to Keepers Interiors: Annie Sloan Comes to Seguin
There are some relationships in life that begin with business but develop into something much more meaningful. My relationship with Annie Sloan is one of those.
Over the years, I have had the extraordinary privilege of learning from Annie—not simply about Chalk Paint and techniques, but about creativity, confidence, curiosity, and the importance of encouraging people to make something beautiful with their own hands. From studying with her in Oxford and around the United States, to bringing what I have learned back to our community here in Seguin, Annie has had a profound influence on the way I think about design and the way we approach what we do at Keepers Interiors & Furniture.
That is why I am especially excited to welcome Annie Sloan to Keepers Interiors & Furniture. My art hero is coming to town and it’s a really big deal for me – and it may be for you also!
Annie isn't just the creator of Chalk Paint which has inspired so many of us. She is a fine artist, educator, global businesswoman, author, and, to me, a mentor and friend. Having her visit Keepers feels like a wonderful opportunity to share a little of that relationship—and the inspiration she has given me—with our customers and our community.
For me, Annie Sloan has always represented the idea that creativity doesn't have to be intimidating. A piece of furniture doesn't have to be perfect. An old object doesn't have to be discarded. With a little imagination, the right color, and the willingness to try something new, you can transform almost anything and you are encouraged to PAINT EVERYTHING!
That philosophy is at the heart of Keepers.
When we became an Annie Sloan Flagship Store, it was an incredible honor. But what makes it truly special is being able to share Annie's approach to creativity with the people who walk through our doors every day. Whether you have been painting furniture for years or have never picked up a brush, there is something wonderfully liberating about Annie's philosophy: just start creating.
Her visit to Keepers will be a very personal moment for me, and I hope you'll join us to experience it.
