Art Unveiling of Roots of Resilience: The African American Experience in Seguin through Art and Legacy

Overview
As the month of February begins we are honored to work alongside the African American Community of Seguin and Guadalupe County to celebrate Black History Month. We also know that learning and growing from eachother takes place 365 24/7 and we are grateful that the community trusted us to help capture their stories. Through these stories a co-community creation of art by the famous artist and Son of Seguin, Howard Crunk, will be unveiled at the Roots of Resilience: The African American Experience in Seguin through Art and Legacy on Thursday, February 13, 2025 5:30PM at the Texas Lutheran University Annetta Kraushaar Gallery 517 Prexy Drive Seguin, TX 78155. The entire Seguin Community is invited to join us to celebrate roots, resilience, legacy, and art! We are grateful for the partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, City of Seguin - Government, Seguin Main Street, Seguin Public Library, TLU African American Studies, TLU Black Student Union, San Antonio African American Community Archive & Museum and Wilcox & Moore Legacy Restoration Project (WMLRP) share the pop-up exhibit, The Story of Us, Wilcox Ranch, as well as the Wilson Pottery Foundation who are loaning a few artifacts for this exhibit. This co-community creation of art and exhibit have been a labor of love and has been in the making for the last 2 years. Mark your calendars to join us!
